In fiscal year 2014 HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH once again achieved record sales ‒ €121.3 million (previous year €105 million). The family-owned enterprise headquartered in Bruehl, Germany, continued double- digit growth; the sales increase compared to the previous year is 15%. HIMA further extended its market leadership for safety-related automation solutions in Europe.

The safety specialist achieved a strong positive result in Europe in fiscal year 2014, increasing sales by 24%. In North America, HIMA posted a 12% gain compared with the previous year. ...

In March, Dyneon GmbH started operating the world’s first pilot plant to recycle end-of-life fluoropolymer materials in Burgkirchen, Germany. 08/01/2014 - HIMA Adds Subsidiary to Serve Customers in Brazil

HIMA has formed HIMA Segurança e Controle Crítico Ltda (HIMA Safety and Critical Control) and opened an office in Sao Paulo. The Brazilian company is HIMA’s sixteenth subsidiary.

“Our newest subsidiary reflects the increasing importance of Brazil in the worldwide economy and our desire to provide customers in the region with local support and meet local content requirements,” said Carlos Gebauer Neto, General Manager Brazil. “Working in cooperation with our local partners, HIMA Segurança e Controle Crítico will supply best-in-class services and support to help companies manage the safety lifecycle of their plants, pipelines and machines.”

Among other services, HIMA Segurança e Controle Crítico will provide systems assembly, safety application software programming and testing, on-site acceptance tests, and commissioning and startup services. HIMA expects the Brazilian subsidiary to become the company’s center of safety expertise for Brazil and all of Latin America.

HIMA increases 2013 sales by 21% in North America and by 16% worldwide; company expects double-digit sales growth in fiscal 2014


Safety specialist HIMA increased its sales by about 21% in North America during fiscal year 2013, while the HIMA global group achieved record sales of 105 million euros, a 16% increase over the previous year. The global sales increase was significantly higher than the industry

1/24/2013 - HIMA hosts another first class Safety Symposium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Following the success of the Safety Symposium held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2010, HIMA together with partners, Westcon and Sym Safety have once again teamed up to present a free full day symposium focused entirely on Safety within Brazils Oil & Gas Industry.

Lead the Future in Safety — Minimize Risk & enhance Profitability was the title for this successful and well received event held on November, 13, 2012. The intent of the event was to address the numerous accidents which have occurred in Latin America in recent months and to examine vital considerations on how similar accidents could be avoided in the future without compromising profitability. The event was kicked off by Mr Steffen Philipp, Managing Director of HIMA who spoke of the commitment required by the industry to save lives and protect communities while maximizing productivity.

Other guest speakers included both international and local experts from the Process Automation field who discussed Best Practices for Process Safety in the Oil & Gas Industry today. Presenters shared valuable insight into the future of safety and the latest developments in the process automation industry. HIMA presenters provided possible steps which could be taken to prevent disasters in the industry and this was well received by the attendees who expressed a deep desire to improve on safety for any current and future projects.

HIMA Americas announces that Roger Van Nuis has been appointed as President of HIMA Americas, Inc. In this role, Mr. Van Nuis will be responsible for overseeing business operations throughout North, Central and South America.

Mr. Van Nuis has over 20 years of experience within the industrial process automation industry. He has held a variety of roles in product marketing, sales, account management and executive positions. Most recently, he was the general manager in charge of Yokogawa’s channel partners and alliances, managing a vast network of representatives, system integrators and partners in sales efforts.

5/5/2011 - HIMA Americas Establishes Frame Agreement with BP Products North America To Provide Safety Instrument Systems For Five North American RefineriesNews

HIMA today announced a five-year agreement between HIMA Americas, Inc. and BP Products North America, Inc. to provide its Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Functional Safety Services to BP’s five North American refineries.

The agreement is based on HIMA’s TÜV-certified HIMax safety platform, its SILworX configuration, programming and diagnostic software suite and associated Functional Safety and Engineering services, which under the agreement will be available to all five of BP’s North American refineries. 

The HIMA safety systems will strengthen BP’s ongoing safety focus with leading edge safety technology and services, by allowing BP to implement the highest level of safety integrity, with the flexibility to update, maintain or modify the systems without interrupting their protective functions or production operations. The HIMA safety systems will also help BP to standardize safety design, implementation methodology and compliance documentation, which will help to enhance its safety infrastructure by creating an efficient model that can be easily replicated.
