10-12-2009 - State-of-the-Art Safety - HIMA Controllers Ensure Maximum Availability at Nordsee Gas Terminal

To modernize the safety technology used in its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facility in Brunsbüttel (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), Nordsee Gas Terminal GmbH & Co. KG will rely on three H51q systems from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG as emergency shutdown (ESD) systems. The systems help ensure safe operations at the only LPG sea import terminal in Germany. A new type of flow-based pipeline protection system (PPS) for the new Gjøa field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea will lead to significant savings in pipeline costs and higher pressures for gas transport. The process on which PPS is based has been developed and patented by Statoil. 26-10-2009 - HIMax system guarantees maximum availability of chlorine plant - New HIMA safety system safeguards continuous chlorine production process at Vinnolit Gendorf

HIMax, the new safety system from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG for medium-sized and large applications, is safeguarding the chlorine production process at Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG’s Gendorf facility. The leading German PVC manufacturer was won over by HIMA’s total redundancy concept, which guarantees the continuous operation of the chlorine plant. “The performance of the PES was one of the things that swung the decision in favour of HIMax. It has the performance needed for the machine applications, especially the pump limit regulation,” explains Peter Grandl, EMR technician in the chlorine production area at Vinnolit GmbH & Co. 14-10-2009 - High availability at a glance - HIMax from HIMA as a visualisation and operation component at INEOS Köln

HIMax, the safety system produced by HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG for maximum system availability, is now in use at INEOS Köln (Germany, Cologne) as a high-availability operating and visualising component for remote monitoring of safety technology in a production plant. The challenge in this application is the length of the optical fibre used for high-speed data transmission.

As the new  Executive Vice President Sales Process Automation and Service, Thomas Hinzmann will manage global sales activities for HIMA.

Thomas Hinzmann, with degrees in electrical engineering and business (Master of electrical engineering and Master of business administration), has extensive experience in sales. Previously, he worked as Director of Sales Rosemount Europe for Emerson Process Management.

Thomas Hinzmann will assume the duties of Dr. Hans-Jörg Kmiecik, who becomes Vice President Global Project Pursuit and will be responsible for the acquisition of major projects. This position was created to ensure the long-term growth of the company internationally.

4-5-2009 - HIMA’s Latest Engineering Tool Adds Value to Safety Management Process - SILworX engineering tool now configured for use with HIMatrix

HIMA, announced today that its popular SILworX engineering tool is now available for use with its HIMatrix product series. SILworX simplifies the hardware configuration and allows for version comparisons of individual projects within HIMatrix systems. Changes can be easily tracked and no longer require a technical approval of the entire system. In addition, hardware and software parameterisation is clearly displayed in one window.

17-3-2009 - HIMax ensures Flexibility of Burner Control System - Evonik Degussa uses new safety system from HIMA at factory in Kalscheuren

The Evonik Degussa GmbH factory in Kalscheuren near Cologne is the largest European producer of carbon black. During the production of carbon black, the residual gas is used for steam and electricity generation in the thermal afterburning plant. If a boiler stops functioning, however, a gas flare system starts operation to burn the residual gas. As part of renovation work, the boiler control and monitoring system for the gas flare was automated using the new safety system HIMax from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG. ...
