HIMA products are designed for many years of use. Even while we develop a product we take into account the availability of the components we use, and how up-to-date they are.
Each year we assess our product range, determine which products are still current, and transfer those products into the relevant price list. Each price list also includes a separate section detailing all of the products that have been removed from the range and thus discontinued. These are designated as end-of-line products and are listed there for one year. They are also placed in the “Liste der Auslaufprodukte” (only available in German language) price list, from which point on they are subject to limited availability – as spare parts, for example.
This means that the current price list provides you with information about the imminent discontinuation of products. As well as this information, you will also receive another notification (by mailshot) whenever a system family is discontinued.
We do try to retain spare parts from end-of-line products for up to 10 years, should the product not be replaced by updated systems.
It is possible that restrictions may arise because of components, legislation, or standards. If a fully compatible successor product exists which retains the original functionality, then availability will not be maintained for the original product for more than a year.
