Safe Transfer of Ammonia in Pipelines: An Analysis of Risk

Simulations and studies analyze the potential risks associated with ammonia transfer via pipelines

The safety of ammonia transport via pipelines requires special attention, given past accidents. In this study, potential risks associated with ammonia transfer via pipelines are analyzed, focusing on the context of Singapore. Effective countermeasures are proposed based on simulation results, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency in clean energy applications. These measures include implementing safety instrumented systems and other precautions. The study’s findings lay the groundwork for future laboratory-based experiments to improve ammonia pipeline safety.
