Safety Is Our Responsibility

HIMA is committed to providing high-quality products and services. Our employees ensure we always deliver on this promise. For this reason, we consider occupational health and safety a top priority. And as we care deeply about the environment, we also develop sustainable solutions. To ensure we do not make any compromises in this area, we perform regular self-audits and have established a QHSE management system for this purpose.

Safety On-Site

As contractors, our employees provide high-quality technical services at our customer's facilities. Certification in accordance with SCC regulations (Safety Certificate for Contractors) increases occupational health and safety and helps reduce the risk of accidents.

In 1990, we introduced a quality management system. This was certified in 1994 by German audit company DQS Frankfurt and is subject to yearly audits. Certification in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard is the basic prerequisite for numerous product certifications.

We consider it our obligation to contribute to protecting the environment – thereby supporting the conservation of life and nature and protecting against health problems. We therefore take a large number of environmental aspects into consideration in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of our products. Our management system, which is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001, supports us in conserving resources and minimizing waste.

In 2002, we became the world's first manufacturer to verify the establishment of a functional safety management (FSM) system, as well as its application in product development and product manufacturing, to TÜV Rheinland.

In August 2003, the TÜV audited the application of a functional safety management system in the area of engineering and certified standard-compliant procedure in the integration of safety-related devices and systems.

HIMA maintains a separate quality assurance system for manufacturing products that are used in potentially explosive atmospheres. This quality assurance system guarantees proper manufacturing of ATEX-certified products. The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) regularly verifies this through audit.

The testing laboratories of HIMA Paul-Hildebrandt GmbH are accredited by the DAkkS according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
