Safety and Security in the Days of COVID-19

Latest Information (as of April 6, 2020)

Due to the increasing number of infections with the coronavirus (COVID-19), HIMA has implemented extensive measures to ensure the protection of our customers and our employees, thus helping to contain the spread of the virus. Our objective is to minimize the number of direct contacts inside and outside the company premises. We are observing developments closely and we fully support the measures taken by the authorities.

Despite the current restrictions, our ability to continue business activities has top priority allowing us to provide our customers with the best possible support in maintaining their business. We have therefore implemented a variety of measures, which are monitored by means of a Business Continuity Plan and enabling us to respond to changing circumstances very rapidly.

The Business Continuity Plan provides a detailed description of behavior instructions within HIMA. Hygiene regulations and instructions on prudent behavior for all employees apply at all locations. Furthermore, we have reduced the number of face-to-face meetings to a minimum and made arrangements to be largely digital.

In the short-term we want to switch the entire communication with our customers to telephone and video conferencing.  This step is intended to protect our and your employees! To ensure our availability, we have arranged the following contact options:

Protective Measures for Employees and Customers

HIMA has taken a variety of measures at all locations worldwide. The most important of them include hygiene regulations and instructions on prudent behavior for all employees. Furthermore, we have reduced the number of face-to-face meetings to a minimum and made arrangements to be largely digital. We have cancelled all internal customer events and the participation in all trade fairs and public events until the end of April.

Since 11 February, HIMA has suspended the travel activities of its employees for business trips. However, we will continue to carry out service interventions as long as customers grant us access to their facilities and the current regulations of local authorities allow it. This is because our products are used in critical infrastructures and are required for smooth and safe operation in our customers' plants.

Service & Maintenance / Training Courses

HIMA has cancelled all face-to-face training courses until the end of April.

Delivery capabilities

A special focus is on maintaining production and our ability to deliver. To date, the spread of Corona does not affect HIMA’s ability to deliver.

FATs and SATs

HIMA is developing proposals for solutions to be able to safely perform factory and site acceptance testing (FAT and SAT). We have taken precautionary measures for customers visiting HIMA headquarters in Brühl. Please inform your contact person in advance by telephone to ensure a smooth and above all safe implementation on site.

COVID-19 Q&A

Travel regulations have been in place since February 11:

All business trips to and from risk areas are suspended until further notice. Service interventions will continue to be carried out, despite the current travel restrictions, as long as local authorities allow it and customers grant us access to their facilities.

Travel activities in China are carried out by our team as long as the local authorities allow it. Restrictions apply especially to Hubei province and Beijing city.

A special focus is on maintaining production and our ability to deliver. There are currently no delivery restrictions. However, there are expectable shortages in components supply. For questions concerning your specific request, please contact your local support.

We are strictly following the current measures and regulations set by the local authorities. HIMA has a detailed action plan, which will be implemented in stages, depending on the crisis extent.

Despite the current restrictions, the continuation of business activities has top priority and we will provide our customers with the best possible support in maintaining their business. To date, Corona has no effects on HIMA’s ability to deliver. The majority of our employees globally can work from home.

HIMA has an emergency plan, which will apply in case of infection or quarantine. It also includes representatives or backup regulations.

HIMA has instructed its employees to stay home and consult a doctor as soon as they have cold symptoms. In case of an infection, the measures of the local authorities will apply.
