Whoever knows HIMA will be familiar with a company that is always changing. However, our values have stayed the same. Learn more about what HIMA does differently and why we are proud of this.
HIMA is a family-run business. Since its founding in 1908, HIMA has had four managing directors. All of them are descendents of the founding family Hildebrandt.

We are active in over 50 locations around the globe with organizations in every continent. We employ over 800 people worldwide. The HIMA family communicates in 9 languages. Anyone who wishes to visit all of our locations would have to travel 70,688 km.

Our headquarters is located in Brühl, near Mannheim, Germany. Here we employ nearly 500 people from 29 countries. We regularly send employees to projects in Singapore, Russia, South America, Latin America, South Korea, China, and the USA.

Partnerships with
universities and vocational schools
Almost 20 percent of our employees worldwide work in research and development. We collaborate with higher education institutes (e.g. Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, Mannheim) and vocational schools (e.g. Carl-Theodor-Schule, Schwetzingen).
Across our international locations, we have grown significantly in recent years. Over half of our employees at these offices joined the company in the last two years, and more than 40 percent are under 35 years old.

Long-term working relationships are important to us. Almost half of our employees have worked with us for more than 11 years. It is not uncommon for employees to work for us for longer than 40 years. On average, we celebrate five 40-year anniversaries per year.
