Sustainability

Sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate philosophy and a central component of our strategic orientation. Our aim is to harmonise economic, ecological and social responsibility while actively conserving resources and protecting people and the environment.

 

Our Sustainability Activities Include:

  • Tree Planting for Active Climate Protection:
    For every completed customer feedback survey, we invest 5 euros in tree planting. Together with our partner tree-nation, we support sustainable projects around the world.

  • Participation in Sustainability Initiatives and Certifications:

    • Member of the KLIMAfit initiative of the Rhein-Neckar district

    • Ecovadis Assessment: Bronze rating

  • Internal Projects and Campaigns:

    • Establishment of a global CSRD project team

    • Development of sustainable site and trade fair concepts

    • Next Level Awards 2024 for outstanding sustainability projects

    • Global idea campaigns for continuous improvement of our sustainability efforts

    • LevelX Camp 2026: A forum for exchange and development of sustainable innovations

 

Sustainability Across the HIMA Group

Environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices are shared goals throughout the HIMA Group. Our group companies, Sella Controls in the UK and Origo Solutions in Norway, are actively addressing sustainability in their respective industries and regions.

Tree-Nation is our trusted partner for global reforestation. Based in Barcelona and a recognized partner of the UN Environment Programme, Tree-Nation supports over 80 certified projects worldwide. Their digital platform enables us to transparently track every tree planted and ensure long-term impact.

With their expertise, we’re able to turn customer feedback into meaningful environmental action — directly, efficiently, and globally.

Commitment to Regional Biodiversity

At our Brühl site, we maintain our own beehives in cooperation with local beekeeper Jörg Staffel. Our employees chose the name for the bee colony themselves: the queen is called “HIMaya.” The harvested honey is used locally and supports regional biodiversity.
